Kunstraum 34, Stuttgart
3 October 2020
Artist talk as part of duo-exhibition [to], Kunstraum 34, Filderstraße 34, 70180 Stuttgart (DE) with Jorinde Fischer. Start: 3 PM.
Sound. Color. Materiality. Moving through the space, experiencing the physicality and presence of [to]: an exhibition where the architecture becomes part of the works that both Jorinde Fischer and Janneke van der Putten conceived for Kunstraum 34. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere and resonate with the frequencies. Enjoy.
Jorinde Fischer employs textiles and steel as her primary materials which she stretches, drapes or sets in a space. The ostensible simplicity of her design focuses on the characteristics and peculiarities of her chosen materials and the spatial situation.
For Janneke van der Putten too, the specific location is the reference for her performances. She explores the environment with her voice and her body, mediated by her own personal experiences. The gestural, performative aspect of her art is also expressed in her paintings.
Supported by Kunstraum 34 and Akademie Schloss Solitude.
