“I am interested in how certain places on earth are related to cosmological knowledge of ancient civilisations, architectural traces and natural phenomena. My interventions at those places are celebrations of life energy – where my voice, intuition and sensory experience come together in the landscape.”

On invitation by Pieter Dobbelsteen / CINNNAMON, Janneke van der Putten presents new work within the context of the gallery, including video, performance, a workshop and textiles. Van der Putten discusses the theme “Quitsato” – or: the middle of the world, an old Ecuadorian concept about the geographical and astronomical perception of the sun and cyclical time measurement. The exhibition, entitled Quitsa, is a follow-up to previous presentations All Begins With A at TENT (Rotterdam, 2015) and Directed to the Sun at Atelierhaus Quartier am Hafen (Cologne, 2017).
